Whitney M Young, Jr. 2016 Awards Dinner

The Middle Tennessee Council, Boy Scouts of America salute Mrs. Paula McClain, and Dr. Phillip M. Pfeffer as the 2016 Whitney M. Young Jr., Award recipients.

The purpose of the Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award is to recognize outstanding services by an adult individual or an organization for demonstrated involvement in the development and implementation of Scouting opportunities for youth from rural or low-income urban backgrounds, this is in fulfillment of Dr. Young’s dream of justice and equality for all.

This award is given to an individual who has a heart for helping others in their community and we honor those who have a Scouting spirit with helping others, being friendly and kind to all, and giving beyond themselves.

Both Mrs. McClain and Dr. Pfeffer exemplify those qualities through the work they have done in our city and their communities to enhance the lives they effect.

Jacqueline Hayes proudly served as the 2016 Event Chair for the Whitney M. Young Jr Awards Dinner.
